I lost my sword :(

Hi,

Something really strange just happened. I teleported to my friend to check something for him and when I teleported, I was surrounded by mobs. It was night and they all just crowded around me, not attacking. I then proceeded to attack them with my sword, without moving. Then, after a little bit of lag, I realised that my sword had disappeared and I was now holding my shovel. The shovel had moved to the slot where my sword was and my sword had completely disappeared. I did not drop it and clearlag was around 30 seconds - a minute before I even teleported to my friend. It was an emperor custom sword Is there any way I can get this back? I am absolutely gutted and I have no idea what happened.

Did it break and could a zombie have dropped a shovel by any chance?

It definitely didn't break, it had unbreaking 20. And no, the shovel was my emperor shovel.
